Hurstbourne is a Jefferson County city that has a population of approximately 3,900. The city is considered part of the Louisville Metro area. The area was once part of a military grant to Henry Harrison and was surveyed by John Floyd in 1774. The area was renamed to Hurstbourne in 1915 after the Hert family acquired the property.
